I was playing in the band I was in in high school, but we were adults. We were playing a house party in the suburbs at Karen Beach's house. I was playing bass, but didn't know the set list and could barely remember the songs, but I looked over the shoulder of the guitarist and figured it out and kept a long. I hit a few sour notes, but I muffled it so nobody could hear it. When the show was over, the guys were packing up and I think they were going to another spot to perform it, but it wasn't clear if I was invited or not or if I was supposed to be there or not. The other guys left before me and without me. I tried to hurry up, but I told the last guy that I'd be right out. He was Dana Szpunar for high school, which was funny because we weren't friends in high school and we never talked and he never played music. But he was either a member of or an associate of the band. I was trying up my cables and putting my bass in it's case and unplugging my amp when I thought I hadn't even connected with Karen or her parents or her kids. I went to the kitchen and said hi, hugged Karen, met her kids, said hi to her husband and to Karen's parents, but said I'd have to go soon. I went outside and asked Dana something about where they were going. He said back home so I put the bass or amp which belonged to the band in his truck and left with 2 girls. My car was right behind his and I loaded up what was mine and left. I was embarrassed because my car was older and they were in a really nice area.
